Tilt is a real issue with Astro I aging set ups, coming from several places, the sensor in the camera not fitted completely level, imaging train adapters causing tilt, and focusers causing tilt.well with this new tool you can eliminate it, or pinpoint that it’s coming from your focuser in under 3 mins sat at your PC in your warm house, rather than messing with small screws out in the freezing cold. see here: https://youtu.be/iyH...9mII7GIDPYt6fwW |

Why is this a problem exactly? I just noticed this on Youtube and wondered what kind of issues this tilt can cause?

Karl Perera: Well it sounds like you don’t have an issue, if you had you would notice in your images with misshapen stars, around some of the corners and or edges, tilt in the imaging train can be a real pain to adjust out and this tool makes it so much easier. My camera has tilt from the sensor not being fitted perfectly flat in the camera housing, and that is very common nowadays unfortunately, hence why now we see so many tilt adjusters on the market. But if you don’t have it on your system, then all good. Clear Skies 👍🏻 |
