Team up, so time goes fasterIn my facebook astro group we have team up so we shoot same target and collect more data in small amount of time. I think this is best solution for time!!!
I think the collaborations I've seen have been fabulous, and if I were a younger man, I'd definitely be into it. I get asked to do it all the time, but at this point in my life, I have zero interest in it. I have other areas of my life where I work on a team right now--the law, music, art, and volunteer activities. But my astrophotography is mine--all mine and only mine. I've certainly had help from people like Tolga and Ron Brecher to develop my gear and my skills. But my work belongs to me alone. After a lifetime of collaborating with others, which I genuinely enjoyed, I really love having something like this that is completely a solo effort and creates a legacy for my friends and family.
The other factor is that after taking 500 images of the Northern Hemisphere sky, I'm getting into territory where I've sort of emptied the sky. I expend quite a bit of effort trying to find targets to image that are off the beaten path, but there are only so many of those. And even then, I've yet to do anything truly unique. I'm not necessarily interested in discovering new objects--something I think is a younger man's game. But I hope to try to give things a bit of a different perspective when I can. One of the main tools for doing that is to bear down on exposure time and go as deep as possible.
