Hi everyone,

I’ve recently started putting together a small website to showcase some of my astrophotography images and write about what I’ve been learning along the way. While I don’t have many blog posts up yet, I just published one that’s close to my heart — it summarizes my journey of choosing my first astrophotography camera, and what I’ve learned from experience (and a lot of trial and error).

The post is written especially for beginners — people like me who are still figuring things out and learning through hands-on experience rather than textbook theory. I’ve tried to break down technical concepts like sensor size, pixel scale, resolution, and field of view in simple terms, sharing both what confused me early on and what finally clicked.

Here’s the blog post: https://gkkobservatory.in/choosing-your-first-astrophotography-camera/

I’d be grateful if you have a few minutes to read it — and I’d love to hear your thoughts, suggestions, or corrections to anything I might have misunderstood. I’m still learning and hoping to grow with help from the amazing community here. I look forward to make any corrections based on your feedback.

Also, I plan to keep writing as I explore more — currently dipping my toes into lunar and planetary imaging (Jupiter is calling!), and even experimenting with self-hosting and designing my website on a Synology NAS at home (so please excuse any slowness on the site 😅).

Also, please do explore by astrophotography gallery, or read more about the other images I have captured if you like!
