 Andromeda Galaxy(M31) Hi! I am new in astrophotography and here in the forum. Last night i shot the Andromeda Galaxy with the beginner equipment that i have: Canon eos250d Canon 75-300mm len (used 200mm) Asiair pro Eqm-35 mount Iso 800 F/5 I take 73 frames * 90seconds exposure stacked and processed in PixInsight. I would appreciate any feedback on improvements or corrections needed in the processing. Thanks! |

Welcome Matan. That's a good go for M31, I'm just wondering about the red halos around the brighter stars against the galaxy, don't think I have seen that problem before. Blue halos yes but not red.

Hi, bit out of focus, but seems that the major problem here is the overprocessing. Would it be possible to have a look at your RAW lights as well as your stacked unprocessed master light? CS Taras |

Hi Matan - welcome. That is nice. Well done. Only comment I'd make is the blacks look clipped, possibly to hide noise in the image. Did you shoot calibration frames like darks, flats and bias? If not those would help and reduce the need to overdo the background.

Hi, welcome. When I have started 2 years ago YT helped me a lot. You can search for processing videos of your target with PI directly and get a lot of results. And you can even search for your setup to get some more hints to use it for astrofotography. Some of the good guys are Cuiv - the lazy geek, who just released a 3h video course of PI for beginners. Then View into space has good processing videos and at least VisibleDark. But there are a lot more great people to find there. 2 Things I recommend at least: If you want to dig deeper - Adam Block is also on YT and has some courses for processing. It is absolutely worth, but you have to pay for it. Second: Search here for your camera and look what the other guys have done with it and if you like it, ask the directly for some advice.
