Hey guys, recently I started making video tutorials about astrophotography images processing in GIMP. I wonder if anyone is still working with this free software? I think it is still very useful, and I try to achieve as much as possible, using just simple - and somewhat forgotten, I think - techniques. In this topic I intend to post links to my videos. Here is the first one, about removing halos around stars, caused by IR passed through filters which shouldn't pass it:

Please let me know what you think - any comments are appreciated!

And here is a small thumbnail of the title slide:

That's excellent. GIMP is indeed a powerful, free tool and should not be overlooked.

Bravo for doing that. I am a big fan of freeware and GIMP is a very capable and powerful program.

Yet another tutorial - probably my first serious attempt to make a decent image of M31 with an achromatic refractor SW 80/400:

This is an excellent topic. I started out with GIMP and eventually went back to it. I haven't watched any of the tutorials yet, but I am looking forward to it. I process my images in GIMP. I've used GIMP combined with LibreOffice Draw to create my own star charts. Darktable is also an extremely useful program that I use to convert RAW files to TIF and PNG formats for processing in GIMP. I only wish there was an out-of-the-box alignment tool for astrophotography in GIMP, but for me, Siril does that job.

Two-part tutorial, showing how to edit Double Cluster, shot with an achromatic refractor - presumably not a very well suited scope for open clusters, and yet, the result is quite good!
