Hi everyone,

I just wanted to share with you a modest contribution about processing image in PixInsight. I found this image of the Christmas Tree and Cone Nebula hidden in a backup disk, never published, and wanted to give it a "face-lifting", using new processes in PixInsight (Russell Croman Xterminator, EZ Suite and SetiAstro) and my better knowledge in step-by-step processing as well. It's interesting to see how better we can be in this hobby and how much satisfaction it makes every time we have the opportunity to collect photons and process them

Original data was taken in January 2022 with my TSA-120 and a modded Nikon D5500. Only 40 subs of 180''.

I'm not going to redo all my old data but it was funny to "save" this one as I was almost ready to throw it away  And you guys, you're probably proud of your own achievements over the years, don't you

Clear skies,
Christophe

Impressive. So far I mostly did comparisons of different hardware on a same target but this looks like a fun too. Especially the BXT and SXT made a huge improvement in my workflows. Also using Pixinsight to combine RGB and Ha data from OSC camera pushed the galaxy photos to a new level.

…and it's not just PI, software across the board has improved a vast amount in that time frame.
