I created two versions of this image, one with fewer stars than the other and have otherwise been struggling with narrowband. I got this data from Telescope live and thought it should be a good test of basics so I thought id give it a go and ask you all. so I started by star aligning all to the Ha channel then Cropping. LInear fit to Weakest (Sii) then i Ran Spectrophotometric flux on the Ha and Oii, SII forced me to use regular gradient correction as it told me no filter info available. Linear fit all to the Sii channel then Combine, 2x Blur ex then Noise Ex. Removed the stars to to run through seti astro NB to RGB stars script. removed starts and ran BX on Ha channel then combined to RGB after stretching both to close to similar background levels. then remove total L to make Enhanced Shapened Lum https://chaoticnebula.com/pixinsight-sharpening/ Combine enhanced L back into the image then tweak color in selective color correction tweaked saturation in stars then created a mask to limit the star presence on certain parts of the nebula. with mask applied recombined the stars with image blend and tweaked contrast. I'm really trying not to over do it i promise lol. oh i used a bit of dark structure enhance before i added stars in. I know it looks a little crisp in spots but I wanna know what suggestions you all might have. any feedback is helpful ![]() ![]() |
