You want to shoot a broadband target like this on a moonless night at least from your B7 backyard. Even a dark sight is a bortle 8 with a full moon.

For faint/reflection nebulas I find 2 things help the most: 1. LOTS of integration time 2. Narrowband filters. You have a color camera so take a look a dual/multi band filters. This will also help with light pollution from your B7 skies. Another factor, especially in B7 conditions, is image when the target is nearly directly overhead. This will help avoid some of the light pollution. |
