Recently I published a 2x2 4 panel Mosaic targeting IC1396. While I did not get the results I had hoped for with this popular target, I would like to hear from the community on this image please help me take this to the next level. My published version can be found here: https://www.astrobin.com/1keab9/B/ I thought I would make a 132 hour dataset available to the community. Rig: William Optics GT81 w .8x reducer effective focal length 385mm ASI533mmPro at 200gain 70offset ZWO 2" NB 7nm filters SW EQ6R-Pro All panels have the same dataset 132x300sec subs each filter per 11hours/filter All tiffs are cropped and plate solved with image solver in PI. All tiffs are 16bit unassigned I am using dropbox and hope this works! I am looking forward to seeing everyone's results. https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fo/jzcolsz0kopwvhp8kvqiq/AHxLftWmH_AbgOfK-ssHKRM?rlkey=sw5y5mwc1utrtfdiyklrrhm0e&st=d7srwwf4&dl=0 I look forward to the constructive critiques on my image and seeing this data processed by all of you. Quin, Thanks for the feedback on my image. I have not watched that video from Adam and will get that on my todo list. I like your colors, to me, they seem more organic and definitely see the separation from all three channels… Great Job! BTW you and everyone else is free to publish this data on AB, if you wish. If I get some time to have a go at your data, I'll try. I do like the colors in Quinn's version and your original version one over your Revision B. I also feel like for that much time, you should be able to pull more signal out. It has an understretched sense to me. Almost like you were holding back from pulling more data out or trying to make sure it wasn't too blown out if that makes sense.

Hi Thomas, I hope you can make the time to work on this, I would like your take on the data… you are correct that with 33 hours per panel there was more there to pull out. But I have a heavy hand at stretching and purposely went "light". I felt I could go this route because there is so much and I tend to make it look "crunchy" when I try to pullout every photon… Thanks |

I just push up a REV C. A true SHO (no channel blending) but I kept the stars from an earlier version. I didn't do a notify on REV C, I just wanted to see how it would look after Quinn's comment on HA-S2 separation in the image and I wanted something quick to visualize Quinn's observation… Quinn is spot on…

Scott, I like your and Scott's choice of channel mixing. You really can differentiate the channels more easily Feel free to publish it in AB if you wish. Just a mention in the description… I'm glad you had fun and I hope the data didn't cause any problems during processing… CS Tim |
